What can cities do to center the unique needs of young children in their climate change policies and strategies?

  • Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study Marais Road Stellenbosch, WC, 7600 South Africa (map)

Facilitated by Nicole Biondi, this convening will examine the latest thinking on how to ensure that young children are at the heart of city climate change adaptation and resilience efforts around the world.

We will explore how cities, particularly rapidly growing and emerging ones, can lead the development and implementation of child-centered climate change policy. What are the key ingredients that will ensure that young children in cities can flourish in the climate change era?

This generative discussion will help inform Capita's content and strategies, including an in-development philanthropic fund focused on the intersection of early childhood development and climate change. It will also support the development of accessible resources for decision makers around the world in their own efforts to refine climate adaptation and resilience strategies that put the unique needs of young children at their center.

Participation is by invitation. For more information or to discuss participation, please contact Joe Waters (joe@capita.org).
