Erika Pérez-León

Senior Associate, Public Engagement + Strategic Communications

Erika is an independent consultant who has over fifteen years’ experience managing creative teams and delivering complex communication and marketing campaigns for NGO, charity and for-profit clients in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the U.S. Her work includes information, education and communication materials, behaviour change campaigns and branding for urban and rural community programmes on education, health, gender, and market development.

A photographer by degree, Erika spent two years documenting the experiences of people living as refugees in Africa and Latin America. In 2011 she turned her attention to strategic communications in the global development and not-for-profit sectors, working in the West Africa region. In 2015, she worked on the Ebola crisis response in Sierra Leone as part of the International Rescue Committee’s communications team.

Since 2016, Erika has worked with think tanks in a global context. She was the director of communications for On Think Tanks (OTT), a global consultancy and platform for change which supports better-informed decision-making. Before joining Capita she was a projects associate at Sociopúblico, a communications agency dedicated to communicating complex ideas for clients working in the evidence production space.

Erika currently lives in her hometown Lima with her dog Freddie.
